We welcome volunteer drivers 18 and over to help us deliver meals to local seniors. You will get to know the seniors on your route and they will appreciate you!
We ask drivers to commit up to 2 hours per week by delivering an assigned route using their own vehicle.
Drivers must pass a background check and commit to 6 months of service. Morning drivers will come to our kitchen to pick up their packed meals no later than 10:30 AM and will typically finish their route by 12:00pm. Afternoon drivers may pick up meals at 12:00pm and will be finished by 1:30pm.

Perfect for corporate teams, church groups and service clubs that can commit to providing Meals-On-Wheels drivers for one route, one day a week for an entire year.
How Adopt-A-Route works:
Your organization commits to volunteer deliver meals on one route, one day a week, every week. Meals are picked up at 10:00am and drivers will return by 12:00pm.
Every week your group sends a representative to deliver your route. (One person can do it, but two is more fun and efficient) Your team route won’t change so your volunteers will know your seniors.
Deliveries take approximately 1 – 1½ hours from door to door depending on the route you adopt. There are usually 10 – 12 stops.
Requirements: One person weekly to deliver a regular Meals-On-Wheels route. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old, have a valid driver’s license, own their own vehicle and have current auto insurance. All interested volunteers must submit to a background check.
Your organization appoints a team coordinator to schedule volunteers and ensure that the route is covered each week.
We welcome volunteers 14 years old and over in our commercial kitchen to help us package and prep meals for delivery.
Our kitchen is open Monday-Friday every day except major holidays. Meal packaging shifts are open to volunteers Tuesday-Friday. Shifts are available 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Volunteers must be able to stand for the duration of their shift.
We welcome group volunteers to help us package and prep meals. It’s easy and fun!
We will provide all supplies and orientation before your shift. Groups of up to 12 can be easily accommodated for a shift, special arrangements must be made for larger groups.
Come join us for one shift or many-we have a group of dedicated kitchen volunteers who help keep us cooking!
Contact Carrie Mason to schedule your shift: email@example.com or (510) 582-1263 ext. 102.
KIDS HELPING SENIORS
Kids can play an important role in helping our seniors feel thought of and less lonely. Our meal recipients love it when they receive a home made card, placemat, treat or other small gift. We will coordinate with teachers, youth group leaders and other interested adults to ensure that your gift is delivered to seniors that live closest to your site.
